R&B Nights in Charlotte
R&B nights in Charlotte come in a few different shapes, and it helps to know which one you're after before you pick a date.
Party nights. A DJ playing R&B, hip-hop and throwbacks, usually at a club or lounge, usually Friday or Saturday. These are the late ones. Check the start time on the listing, and whether it's 21+ or 18+, because that varies by venue.
Live shows. A touring or local R&B act at a theater or music venue. These start earlier, often with doors an hour before the set, and they're usually all-ages or 18+. Buy ahead.
Throwback and slow-jam nights. Built around a decade or a vibe: 90s, early 2000s, slow jams. They tend to be dressier, and the crowd skews a bit older.
Day parties and brunches. R&B and brunch pair well, and Sunday is when most of those happen. See day parties.
Every listing below links to where tickets are sold. Event details, including age limits, dress code and doors, are set by the organizer, so check the event page before you go.
Not sure which part of town? Uptown has the bigger rooms, South End and NoDa have more bars and venues in a walkable stretch. The nightlife guide breaks that down. And if you just want to know what's on, see this weekend.
